Good evening!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers and mother figures in the Blimish community. You all deserved to be celebrated every day. I appreciate the calmness that many mothers seem to possess naturally. Calm is a state of serenity — a feeling of connectedness and safety even when everything seems hectic. It is not forcing yourself to meditate or be still, nor is it ignoring the chaos.
Today’s email will provide 3 practices for staying calm.

“Within you, there is a stillness and sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.”
– Hermann Hesse
Learn from Your Friendships, but Be True to Yourself
There are individuals in your life who can take the pressure off in moments of panic and worry. Allow them to help you see the reality of your circumstance clearly and bring the needed serenity. It feels nice to have your anxieties and problems alleviated by those you care about, and you wish to return the favor. But it’s aggravating when they won’t listen to your point of view on a topic that bothers them.
This can cause you to lose your temper. You don’t have the power to force people to do anything they don’t want to do in this case. You can only hand out kind words from your heart, generate some time for them, and let them decide on the rest.
Practice Conscious Breathing
Today, we are under so much stress that we forget to breathe. This is where mindful breathing as a stress-reduction technique comes into play. Conscious breathing assists in the recognition and resolution of limited breathing patterns. It also boosts self-esteem and the ability to let go of old beliefs and cognitive habits.
Control Your Information Consumption
If overconsumption of media is robbing you of your peace, pay more attention to how you consume information and how much you choose to download mentally. Allow no negativity from the outside world to affect you.
The flip side of the information coin is how much information you choose to share. Sharing on social media can be entertaining and motivating, but you must remember to cherish special moments in life without your phone. Take a breather and realize that many generations before you lived well without the abundance of information we have today.
Be kind to yourself and stay calm.
Keep going!
