Time is like wine, don’t gulp it if you want to enjoy it.

Time is like wine, don’t gulp it if you want to enjoy it.

Here’s a little motivation to remind you to cherish your time on this Earth.

Imagine the number of years you have to live is bottled up in a wine bottle. What’s the best way to drink it if you really want to savor it? The answer is obvious. Drink it the same way you would your favorite wine.

No one gulps down their favorite wine. What we do is pour it into a glass cup and sip it little by little, enjoying every bit of it. That’s how life should be lived.

But unfortunately, we don’t approach life in the same way. We know that our time is limited, so we try to get things done as fast as possible. We can’t wait to graduate high school, finish college, make money, get married, and on and on. But does speed slow down time?

It doesn’t. Rushing your life won’t make you have more than 24 hours in a day. It won’t increase the number of days in a year either. Time is constant.

Don’t get it wrong, though. It’s necessary to set goals and work towards them. If you can achieve all the outcomes you desire in a shorter time than others, go for it. However, don’t do it at the expense of your life.

Achieving it isn’t what’s most important for every goal you set. More important than achievement is enjoying the process. Let’s say your goal is to become the president of your country. You can’t guarantee that you’ll live long enough to actualize the dream as good as that is.

So which is better, enjoying the process towards becoming president or putting yourself through suffering, hoping to enjoy only when you achieve the goal?

Life is a gift and it should be treated as such.

Happy Easter and have an amazing week!

Keep going!
