Good morning!
Happy holiday season to you ? Every year around this time, it seems like people around the nation become extremely generous. I mean, they call it the season of giving for a reason. Just yesterday, I was in the drive-thru line at Starbucks. When I got to the window, the worker told me that my order had been paid for by the customer in front of me. I smiled instantly, and said to myself, “Wow, look at God.” I felt I was responsible for paying it forward, so I paid for the person’s order behind me.
This instance reminded me of something that we’ll be diving into today; with every gift comes a responsibility.

This month, our emails have been about the importance of utilizing the attention that comes with your elevation. This week, we’ll look at the topic from a different point of view, and hopefully, it proves relevant to this holiday season.
God gives every human a calling, and it’s up to them to decide if they will answer it or not. It could be a calling to serve, a calling to lead, a calling to teach, etc. But whatever the calling is, it will come with a responsibility. You can’t get one without the other.
Even though your calling is not wrapped up in a bow, it’s still a gift, and it should be treated as such.
So, as we enter into the week of Christmas, I want to challenge you to think about the calling God has placed on your life. Think about the unique gifts you have as a person, and then ask yourself, “what’s the responsibility that comes with this?”
Many of you reading this may know what your calling is, but I know some don’t. If you are still searching for your calling, ask yourself these 3 questions:
- What motivates or inspires you?
- What do you do well naturally and effortlessly?
- What is the one thing that you do that people tell you you’re the best at?
Keep searching and striving for greatness. With great power comes great responsibility. Don’t hide from it. Embrace it.
