When the heart and the head disagree, the heart always wins.
This is because the heart has the most power. Everything we do comes from the heart. An important part of mental wellness is having self-awareness of your heart’s wellness. Today’s email will be short, but hopefully, impactful. We will discuss 6 truths about the heart. These truths were inspired by the work of Alexander Lloyd, who has a PhD in Psychology and Naturopathic Medicine.

“One love, one heart, one destiny.”
– Bob Marley
Truth #1
We are who we are in our hearts: We may tell others, “This is who I am, this is what I believe,” but who we truly are is who we are in our hearts, since the heart has greater power.
Truth #2
What we truly think is what we believe in our hearts, which explains why we talk about conscious beliefs but live by unconscious beliefs.
Truth #3
We do what we do because of what’s in our hearts: We can develop amazing plans and even we even have the ability to accomplish them. However, if we have painful memories regarding the same plans we hope to accomplish, we will respond to memories, whether we want to or not. It will lead us to act on the pain until we can heal them.
Truth #4
The heart is programmed to protect: The heart’s primary function is to protect humans from unpleasant, perhaps fatal events, both now and in the future. Because the heart is intended to protect, it always wins.
Truth #5
Our priorities are determined by what’s in our hearts: We believe we prioritize based on a logical analysis of our facts and circumstances. However, what we value determines how we prioritize, and what we value is determined by our hearts.
So protect your hearts and know your hearts. It will provide healing and joy.
